Conway Scenic Railroad "Chug-a-Chug-a-Chuga-a-Chuga-a-Choo-Chooo!" - New Hampshire Trip - Day 5

Jeff and I got back from our hike up Mt. Chocorua on Tuesday just in time to take a quick shower and head to the train station in North Conway. The Conway Scenic Railroad takes daily train rides around the White Mountains. Elaina loves trains, so we knew this was something that we wanted to do. We chose to take the shortest trip that is available because we weren't sure how long it would keep the girls interested. Our trip lasted 55 minutes, and the girls were GREAT! They LOVED it! They both looked out the window the entire time. Elaina would talk about the "big mountains" and the "big water." Emily pointed at many things that we saw and made her own little sweet sounds to let us know that she was enjoying herself. It was a very relaxing ride after a very tiring hike. We had a wonderful time. You can visit http://www.conwayscenic.com/ to learn about the history of the railroad.

It has been so very special to me to share the special places that mean so much to me with my girls and Jeff. After 20 years of three week summer trips to New Hampshire, it feels like a second home to me, especially with all of my family that lives up here. I know that it has meant so much to my parents to be able to share this very special place with the girls as well.

Ready for our train ride.

Elaina was anxiously waiting to give her ticket to the conductor.

Elaina took very special care of her ticket. She was so excited, and she knew her ticket was very important.

Emily has a ticket, too!

Emily relaxed in Daddy's arms and looked out at the beautiful scenery the entire trip. She fell asleep as the trained pulled back to the train station at the end of our trip.

Emily tried to escape the train as it stopped to switch the engine to the other end of the train.

Our special girls.
